We are delighted to celebrate 100 days without a loss time accident (LTA) across all 40 Vita sites – the first time we have hit this milestone as a group since we started recording the data.

Safety is Vita’s number one priority. We want all our colleagues, visitors, and contractors to work in a safe environment, assuring everyone gets to return home to their loved ones at the end of the day.

We have worked hard over the last few years to improve our safety record and have implemented a policy of Vita towards Zero across our group. We strive to have no loss time accidents (LTA’s) as we believe all accidents are preventable. We celebrate our achievements, especially regarding safety, whether at a site or group level. We are particularly proud of our recent achievement of going more than 100 days across all Vita sites without a loss time accident.

In 2021, we launched our Behavioural Safety programme with Dupont Sustainable Solutions, which helps implement a cultural change. Our LTA rate has improved significantly, supporting our desire to become world-class.

Our safety champions have led the Behavioural Safety training, which involves all staff training, assuring everyone takes responsibility for what they see and feels comfortable in challenging any hazards they may find across any of our sites.

In 2022, we look to improve our safety record further. Starting with our managers and supervisors, we will be focussing on good quality behavioural safety observations to support and sustain our excellent safety culture. Vita will never stop focussing on risk reduction across the business.

Ian Robb Group CEO said, “100 days without an LTA is a fantastic achievement and testament to all our colleagues from across our 40 sites. I want to give particular thanks to our 75 safety champions and 350 managers and supervisors who have been central to supporting our Vita to Zero campaign.

We are still on a journey of discovery, and we must ensure that in 2022 we once again raise the bar on our safety performance. We have the passion, commitment, and dedication to make all our workplaces the safest in our industry.”
