Our Technical Capabilities
Conversion
The Vita Group have the capability to provide the foam industry with the following conversions:
- Loop Slitting
- Peeling
- High Density Peeling
- Sheets
- Composites
Loop Slitting
- Vita has 60 metre loop slitters for volume production, which convert foam into continuous rolls ranging from 1.5mm to 100mm in thickness.
Peeling
The Vita Group is the only round block technical manufacturer and converter in Europe. Vita has peeling machines located across sites in the UK, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland and China. Benefits of round block include:
- Increased distance between the foam joins
- Reduces the minimum order quantity per stock keeping unit
- Improved thickness capability
- Width 100cm to 226cm
- Thickness 0.75mm to 24.5mm
High Density Peeling
- Vita has the capability of converting high density / hardness material such as Rebond (recycled foam). Its high density and excellent resilience make it suitable for applications including flooring, underlay and sound dampening.
Sheets
- Vita supply foam in sheets ranging from 3.0mm thickness upwards.
Composites
- Various composites can be produced using methods such as flame lamination and adhesive lamination. We can laminate a wide choice of self-adhesive and face material to suit each customer’s specification.
Post Treatments
Advanced technology offering further benefits include:
- Reticulation: Cell walls are opened mechanically using a controlled explosion.
- Impregnation: Highly tuned formulation to import specific characteristics.
Secondary Conversion
Multi-slitter and Spooler
- Vita has specialist equipment that has been developed to supply material in both straight wound rolls, or in longer spool wound lengths to avoid snagging and tape breakages. Spool configurations can be customer designed to your specific needs.
Cut Parts
Products can be cut to size and shape using the following processes:
- Water Jet Cutting
- Contour Cutting
- Profiling
- Block Cutting
- Die Cutting
- Surface Coating
- Automated computer controlled cutting line
- Horizontal slitting
- Vertical band-knifing
