Over 120 people from our Accrington, Lancashire site recently took part in a fun-filled and informative Safety and Wellbeing day.
After a welcome from Michael Worden, General Manager of Vita Accrington. Stuart Roby Managing Director of Technical and Flooring and Group CEO Ian Robb, colleagues were divided into competing teams for essential safety training and safety-themed enrichment activities.
The day not only included sessions on manual handling, and fire extinguisher training but staff were able to take part in pottery painting, reaction testing, and archery, amongst other activities. As an extra incentive to make the most of the day, colleagues had an opportunity to win an extra day of annual leave and a range of gift vouchers.
After a traditional Lancashire lunch of pies and cakes, top-scoring colleagues took part in an archery shoot-out to determine the overall champion followed by a presentation for the rest of the day’s top achievers.
It was great to bring all our staff together after a two-year break, due to COVID-19, to learn new skills and have some much needed fun! A special shout out to Clare Duckworth, Accrington’s SHE lead, for organising such a fantastic event.
At The Vita Group, safety is our number one priority, and we take great care to train all of our colleagues to keep safety at the forefront of our operations.
