Operating safely is a core value at The Vita Group. We continuously seek to reduce hazards, lower risk, and engineer safety in all we do.
We have introduced a diversity and inclusion policy for the Group as we see it as our responsibility to create a diverse, representative and inclusive workforce as an important commitment to our employees and wider society. We subscribe wholeheartedly to the philosophy that good diversity practices ‘widen the gate’ and truly inclusive workforces are happier, healthier and more productive. We require our senior leadership recruitment partners to provide diverse short lists to ensure that we are seeing the best candidates on the market.
Read more in our Sustainability Report 2021To bring our Purpose and Values to life we’ve worked with a gamification specialist to launch a digital engagement programme. The programme makes our Purpose and Values real for our employees so they can understand them, why they matter and how to apply them to their work within The Vita Group. Dave Kowal, Group HR Director, said: “Being a purpose led organisation is the foundation of our culture. Our purpose defines who we are and how we work together to deliver for our customers, one another and our stakeholders.”
Since 2016, we have been investing in our Vita Towards Zero (VTZ) programme. The VTZ initiative reduces risks and hazards through broad-based employee engagement in safety, training on risk identification and risk reduction. The programme has resulted in training taken place across all our sites with risk reduction projects and activities taking place across the business.
