Sustainable foam from CO₂ derived polyols
Nemus is a new range of sustainable foams created using polyols derived from captured CO₂. Nemus is a flexible PU foam that contains waste CO2 sourced from chemical plants and is built into the polyether Polyol rather than being released into the atmosphere. The polyol used in this process brings CO2 back into the value chain whilst saving Crude Oil.
The captured CO₂ polyol is then used in foam production. By using the Cardyon polyol from Covestro we can replace 20% of the petroleum used in traditional foaming production, as the captured CO₂ polyol replaces a portion of the petroleum used in the foam. After rigorous testing, this process has now moved beyond the lab testing stage and we are now producing the foam on an industrial scale.
Nemus Foam blocks are cured and converted to our customer’s desired dimensions. Nemus is a new sustainable foam innovation by The Vita Group, which is suitable for a wide variety of bedding, automotive, consumer, and furniture applications.
