The Vita Group is supplying laminated materials incorporating our PU Foam to produce washable/reusable facemasks

Facemasks are becoming a socially acceptable form of defence in many countries. Their main purpose being to restrict the passage of germs through an aerosol release (sneezing/saliva) from the mask user.

Vita has partnered a European organisation to supply a PU laminated washable/reusable insert using Vita’s polyurethane foam, inhouse peeling and laminating process.  The foam is laminated to specific fabrics, creating a soft breathable material that can be worn in direct contact with the skin, while forming a protective barrier that reduces the passage of aerosol release.

As the foam is breathable, air can flow through the mask, with the laminated material acting as a barrier against aerosol releases, and for those wearing glasses avoids any misting. The finished material keeps its shape and can be reused through a washing regime. This is vitally important to reduce the secondary wave of contamination and waste disposal concerns for the environment from used masks. The final laminated sandwich materials are both Oeko-tex certified, providing assurance of quality.

All masks are suitable as protective masks and are not accredited for medical applications.
