It is estimated that around 70% of the world’s population suffers from Imposter Syndrome at some point in their lives, with a prevalence in professional women – which is why we made it the subject for The Vita Group’s inaugural Women At Vita Everywhere (WaVe) event.

‘The Secret thoughts of Successful People’ webinar was attended by 70 Vita personnel and included personal testimony from Vita women and invited guest, Emma Philips a Partner at DLA Piper.

Award winning coach, trainer, speaker and published author Charlotta Hughes spoke about the psychology of Imposter Syndrome and how we can change our mindset to be more positive about our abilities.

“The imposter syndrome can affect anyone no matter their social status, work background, skill level, intelligence, or expertise. Not only can it cause stress and anxiety to the individuals themselves, but the affect on their organisations can be large too, with consequences such as burnout, procrastination, sickness absence, resignations, and people not fulfilling their true potential” – Charlotta Hughes, Performance Coach.

WaVe was established to support female colleagues from across the company.

At The Vita Group, we believe that everyone has a role to play in forging an inclusive and balanced work culture, where all colleagues are respected and valued and can bring their best selves to work.

It’s important in events such as this, that people are being their authentic self. Studies have shown that authenticity is a determining factor in why certain teams outperform others and that the sense of respect, acceptance and trust built as a result, contributes largely to those higher levels of performance.

In this video Hayley Crosby introduces WaVe.
